Job Description
As a Creative Director you will lead a team of designers on a multitude of creative deliverables, such as presentations, collateral, pitch theater elements, websites, brand assets and brand guidelines across the globe. You will provide mentorship and coaching to the team and encourage growth through new learning opportunities and challenging projects. Your goal is to inspire the team to be better, elevate the work and confidently chase their individual career aspirations.
Qualifications
Day-to-day, your role includes:
• Being the creative steward of Publicis Media’s 6 brands
• Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across Leadership, Business Development, Communications and Talent teams
• Partnering with key stakeholders to develop design briefs that fit business objectives
• Overseeing a team of 10 designers ranging from entry level to Design Directors
• Driving the work across the team, ensuring quality delivery
• Inspiring innovative behavior on the team to help tackle projects in unexpected ways
• Managing and mentoring junior designers, providing feedback to them, and helping develop their design skills
• Oversee consistent application of agency brand guidelines to all new business and communications work product
• Understanding brand budgets and time constraints and offer strategic solutions for working within them when needed
• Bringing in outside vendors (production, video, art) when necessary and creating opportunities for the studio team to collaborate with them
• Managing your time efficiently to balance simultaneous projects and team needs
• Keeping up to date with emerging technologies
Additional Information
We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:
• A passion for and demonstrated expertise in design, with experience building cohesive brands or design concepts from identity to print to web
• A collaborative approach and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly
• Willingness to mentor and coach junior designers across mediums and general presentation design skills and techniques
• Time management skills; an ability to juggle many projects in a fast-paced environment
• Frequent interaction with sister studio in London, including sharing work & collaboration on various global assignments
• Experience independently leading design projects
• Proven record of selling in big ideas to clients
• A mastery of presentation design combining mediums from PowerPoint to video to print
• 4+ years management experience
• 8-10 years of innovative design experience in a design, consulting or advertising firm with multi industry clients
• A 4-year degree (fine or graphic arts degree a plus)
• A robust portfolio of work
• Ability to travel as needed (Please note: this role is based in New York and oversees a team split between NYC and Chicago)
