HR Manager Summary
We’re looking for another great leader. We’re in the market for a Human Resources Manager who can jump into a vibrant and robust company and help young leaders grow. This leader will provide core HR support in any of two areas: compliance, coaching, training and development or recruiting (listed in order of importance).
The right candidate will walk into a department that already has a firm handle on recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, day-to-day HR functions and employee-relations functions.
It is essential that this person has a desire to cultivate strong professional working relationships with colleagues at all levels within the company. In this work environment, human resources supports the organization.
The ideal fit is someone working in a small or mid-sized company and is looking to expand their responsibilities or searching for more of a challenge, because our Millennial workforce will provide it.
Being comfortable with technology and an instant-messaging environment is a must. We are going paperless by the end of the year and will manage all employee documents and files from the cloud.
One thing to note: If the majority of your experience comes from working at a bank, insurance company or highly corporate environment, we are probably not be the right fit for you. Launch That is unlike any company you’ve ever experienced. We’re privately held, and we have a laid-back culture that is more about personal responsibility than rules. (We have a bar in our office, and we throw a wicked holiday party.)
We’re not looking for a police chief. We’re looking for a teammate grounded in the basics and with an understand of our workplace.
This position reports to the Chief People Officer.
Organizational Structure and Development
• Uphold company HR compliance
• Promote and uphold company culture
• Identify training and development opportunities
• Maintain Career Ladders and pay bands as company scales and grows
• Promote and regulate company policies related to feedback (monthly check-ins, annual reviews, performance improvement plans)
• Manage and grow HR Administrator, who currently handles recruiting, onboarding, benefits processes
• Maintain employee files and migration to paperless HR environment
• Monitor company employee performances through consistent readings of monthly check-ins and annual reviews
• Keep an eye on employee attendance and PTO use
• Maintain database of accurate job descriptions
• Monitor all company people policies and suggest improvements
• Write/create company policy as needed
• Identify training and development opportunities
• Assist in off-boarding terminated employees and conduct exit interviews
• Work with CPO to develop ongoing training and develop for managers and staff
Employee Relations
• Grow company leaders through group and 1-on-1 coaching
• Train and assist in training company leaders about career development issues (e.g. DDI trainings, how to write reviews, how to give constructive feedback, how to manage conflict, etc.)
• Coach and train young management group about talent and compensation management
• Coach/push our managers to complete on-time employee reviews
• Some employee communication
Payroll/Compensation/Benefits
• Long-term salary administration and management
• PTO management
• Assist in the negotiation of vendor contracts and service agreements HR specific
• All aspects of healthcare administration to include the management of ACA compliance
• Maintain a healthy relationship with the company’s third party benefits administrator
• Work with a third-party company to administer reviews, training documentation and other employee files
• Negotiate, with the help of our benefits broker, annual or bi-annual healthcare rates
Position Requirements
• At least 7 years of related work experience with progressive human resources responsibilities
• Bachelor’s degree in related field – preferably human resources or business management –SHRM certification SPHR/PHR preferred
• The ability to embrace a Millennial workforce
• In depth knowledge of human resources laws and associated responsibilities – specifically wage and hour, FMLA, privacy practices, HIPPA, and so on.
• Benchmark, analyze and report on trends identified internally at Launch That
• Manage the functions of the department – making suggestions regarding technology and software to create and or improve efficiencies
• Down-to-earth communications style – the ability to have professional conversations with all levels of company personnel without relying HR-speak
• Experience in Paycom, Namely or other paperless HR environments
• Agility – to be responsive and adaptive in an ever changing work environment
• Oversee the department's operational and strategic planning objectives
• Responsible for the overall success of all human resources initiatives
• Must be able to impact and influence, think strategically, execute and innovate
• Must demonstrate “high energy” and be strong in action orientation
• Excellent oral and written skills, with an advanced capacity for effectively developing and presenting critical information to leadership

Salary will be commensurate with experience, and the range starts at $60,000. A comprehensive benefits package including generous paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 45-50 hours per week and will be available after hours responding to emails, texts and phone communication on a semi-regular basis.
