JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced Writer to join our Fox News Headlines 24/7 team. As a Staff Writer for Fox News Headlines 24/7 you will turn complex news copies into conversational stories for the Fox News Headline 24/7 Radio Channel (Channel 115 on SiriusXM Radio). You possess strong digital journalism skills and thrive in a fast pace environment.
Hours for this role will vary:

Sat-Wed

5AM-1PM
1PM – 9PM
9PM-5AM
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Write on-air news copy
• Write and edit newscast/wire copy for broadcast
• Fact check news stories and research news topics
• Continuously follow breaking news and update source copy
• Incorporate audio into written stories
• Fulfill Producer responsibilities as needed. This includes formatting, programming, coordinating, and producing a live news program.
• Produce segments and produce reporter hits
• Keep newscast updated by working on developing stories as day progresses
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 3+ years national or local major market experience writing and producing news for radio and/or television
• Substantial breaking news experience in a radio newsroom and/or television control room
• Solid news judgment & a passion for accuracy
• Understanding of compelling writing, great story-telling, and creative use of sound that makes a great radio news story
• Creative and “out of the box” thinking
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team oriented work environment
• Strong digital journalism skills and social media experience
• Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work nights, overnights, weekends, and early mornings
• Knowledge of iNews, ENCO and Adobe Audition (Cool-Edit)
