About CAG
Founded in 1951, Concert Artists Guild (CAG) is an internationally recognized not-for-profit arts services organization whose mission is to discover, nurture and promote the careers of outstanding young classical musicians, who are identified through CAG’s renowned Annual International Competition. Winners are presented on CAG’s Concert Series at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall for their New York recital debut, and are offered comprehensive career management services, which include booking performing & educational residency engagements, marketing & publicity support and recording & commissioning opportunities.
We currently have a diversified roster of approximately 20 soloists/ensembles who are recent winners of our Annual Competition. The CAG roster evolves regularly, as new winners are added and older winners are signed onto the rosters of commercial management agencies. (please see our website www.concertartists.org for our latest roster listing)
Job Description:
The Administrator, Contracts & Servicing is in charge of generating and processing of all CAG Artist engagement contracts, including careful examination of all presenter contracts, riders and other addenda, and then making sure the presenters and artists each receive their copies after contracts are fully executed. The administrator must keep track of the overall contract process for each engagement through a software program developed for this purpose (Overture or 3i Platform), and also keep track of artist fee payments (and sometimes file for reduction of tax withholdings).
Varied servicing duties include, but are by no means limited to: generating artist itineraries; assisting with artists' hotel reservations and travel plans, and other duties related to servicing artists’ touring activities; putting together concert programs, organizing and mailing of publicity materials; database management and updating of mailing lists; assisting with correspondence and filing, as well as other clerical and organizational duties; plus other projects which will develop as needed. This person works very closely with two full-time management/booking people and communicates regularly with all artists on the roster and CAG’s presenter clients.
As a member of the Management team, the Administrator will have the opportunity to attend performances around the great New York area, and also participate in artist meetings for career planning and marketing strategies. Additional duties may be required connected with CAG’s New York Concert series and events, as well as the annual CAG competition.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates should have one to three years experience, preferably with some related to reviewing and processing contracts, and/or working with performing artists. We are looking for bright, highly-organized, detail-oriented individuals with excellent communications skills, who possess a good attitude and the ability to take direction and follow through on assigned projects. Computer proficiency is a must, preferably including experience with the following programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Overture, 3i Platform, MyEmma, InDesign, PhotoShop and Dreamweaver). Experience with computer graphic design is very helpful, and a working knowledge of classical music is essential.
Benefits:
This is a full-time position with health benefits and salary commensurate with experience.
