Learning Architect/Editor - Reading
Additional Locations:
• Edit specific content for early-childhood and/or middle school literacy programs, such as instructional texts, lessons, word lists, vocabulary instruction, reading instruction, writing instruction, and assessment tasks.
• Contribute to the development of innovative content for students and teachers that act as “game-changers” regarding classroom instruction and students’ learning gains.
• Develop prototypes, manuscript, and digital content that adhere to research and program pedagogy.
• Review work of in-house and out-of-house writers and guide all components through production phases.
• Assist with the preparation of writing guidelines and support the development of writing models. Track editorial deliverables and deliver all work on time and within budget.
• Process and incorporate feedback from division stakeholders including marketing, sales, senior management and product services.
• Work closely with all relevant departments – e.g., design, production, technology, and professional services, in a collaborative and professional manner.
• Track content quality and maintain consistency and integrity of editorial voice and pedagogy. Calmly and diligently juggle multiple results-oriented initiatives under tight turnarounds.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years experience preferred developing instructional materials for early childhood literacy and/or middle school programs.
• Excellent and detail-oriented editorial skills, dedicated to high quality, and committed to improving the skills of young students at all levels.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and manage complex projects with many stakeholders.
• Creative, industrious and positive team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Adobe InCopy.
Physical Requirements:
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
