OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
JOB DESCRIPTION
General Competency
• Gains thorough understanding of the business operational processes and of all applicable IT systems.
• Manages creation of training strategy in alignment with business needs.
• Balances competing goals of business units and IT with the best interests of the company.
Training Management & Process Efficiency
• Creates and maintains overall training strategy/plan for TVD business.
• Creates and maintains all training documentation for identified processes within TVD.
• Identifies opportunities for process efficiency and reviews with the business. Manages implementation of process efficiency opportunities.
• If applicable, works with IT on functionality in systems to improve process efficiency.
• Coordinates meetings between business units and IT to gain approvals on system or process changes.
• Ensures adherence to Fox policies, standards, and industry best practices.
IT Liaison
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with internal IT staff and applicable vendors, acting as a liaison between the business and IT.
• Holds thorough knowledge of enhancement requests for all applicable systems in order to provide assistance in prioritization.
• Tests and evaluates new technologies and functionality from IT.
• Works with IT to ensure the technology environment used by the business is current and following market best practices and trends.
Special Projects
• Identifies opportunities for special projects and creates project summaries and plans (if applicable) to enable leadership decision on direction.
• Oversees applicable projects in their respective area of responsibility, including timeline, resources, budget, scope, risk, status reporting, and stakeholder expectations.
• Oversees and/or manages multiple projects simultaneously.
Administration
• Communicates plans, status, and issues to management on a regular basis.
• Serves as an escalation point for business and IT for issues and concerns.
Vendor Management
• Identifies and manages opportunities for projects with third party consultants.
• Identifies, evaluates, and selects third party consultants, including negotiation of contracts and rates.
• Manages third party consultant assignments and deliverables, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
Other Duties As Required
Education
• Bachelors required
Knowledge:
• Expert knowledge of Project and Systems Development Lifecycle Methodologies.
• Expert knowledge of project management activities, deliverables and processes.
• Expert knowledge of problem-solving techniques such as root cause analysis.
• Extensive knowledge of Television Distribution processes including sales, rights, and contracts.
• Extensive knowledge of media technology including streaming, transcoding, digital asset management.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure.
Skills:
• Accomplished communicator, both in writing and orally, with extremely strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Demonstrated excellence at working effectively with all levels of staff, clients, and other IT personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new concepts, processes, or technologies.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and motivate professional staff.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, clients and IT personnel.
Experience:
• Minimum 4 years IT experience, 3 years managing projects and systems, with 2+ years managing others.
• Experience developing and managing training plans and project methodologies.
• Experience with sales and distribution within the entertainment industry.
• Proven track record successfully managing projects in a complex, diverse, and challenging business and IT environment.
• Consulting experience preferred.
• Entertainment industry experience preferred.
