JOB DESCRIPTION
21st Century Fox is looking for a talented Senior Tax Accountant at the Corporate Head Office in New York City. The primary responsibilities for this role is the preparation and coordination of the federal and state tax compliance and tax provision for the Company's Television Station group and Corporate Headquarters entities. The Tax Senior Accountant reports to the Director, Global Tax Reporting and Compliance.
Responsibilities include:
• Prepare federal and state income/franchise tax returns utilizing CorpTax software
• Prepare federal and state estimated tax and extension payment calculations
• Assist with tax budget forecasting and timing of cash tax payments
• Provide support for the preparation of the US current and deferred income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740
• Research and resolve various tax matters (withholding, sales & use, property, etc.)
• Conduct tax research and apply to compliance; monitor federal and state tax law for developments, particularly related to tax reform
• Participate in tax audits, respond to inquiries, and provide information related to internal and external requests
• Handle tax notices, correspond with taxing authorities, and other special projects as assigned
• Develop and maintain working relationships with other tax, operational, and finance contacts in various business units; work with outside consultants on various projects
• Maintain the tax calendar and manage deadlines
• Coordinate with other corporate tax teams (e.g. multistate, international, provision and consolidation) to share information and ensure that all compliance deadlines are met
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required, accounting major preferred
• Master’s degree in taxation or CPA preferred
• Minimum 3 years of accounting or tax experience required; media industry or Big 4 experience a plus
• Strong proficiency in general accounting, financial analysis, and Excel (vlookup and pivot tables)
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Must be discreet, detail-oriented, analytical, and able to multi-task with an attention for accuracy
• Must be dependable with ability to problem solve and function independently
