Position Overview
The Editorial Specialist (Specialist, Editorial) will be responsible for contributing content, articles and process support for the company’s internal magazine and intranet news site, coordinating and maintaining the editorial schedule for the intranet news site, curating and programming content from around the organization for display on the information monitors at the headquarters facility, overseeing and executing Department budget functions, and creating the Department’s monthly reports and various internal presentations.
Responsibilities
• Curate, coordinate and program content from various internal groups for display on the information monitors at the headquarters facility
• Contribute content, articles and process support for the company’s internal news vehicles – the bi-monthly news magazine, Imagine, and the intranet news site, Canon Americas News Online (Can Am News)
• Liaise with Department personnel to help coordinate and maintain the editorial content schedule for Can Am News
• Oversee and execute Departmental budget functions, including processing invoices, accruals, monthly variance reports, etc.
• Coordinate and prepare the Department’s monthly activity and progress reports, as well as various internal presentations and communications materials
• Serve as a backup for formatting and coding content for the company’s intranet news site
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or equivalent experience required
• A minimum of 3-5 years experience is required
• Writing and editing skills, as well as a good “news sense” are required, as is proficiency with HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, PowerPoint and Excel
• General understanding of content management systems and development environments a plus
