The Senior Photo Production Specialist is responsible for the procurement, organization and management of digital still and marketing assets for original productions used for promotion of the Starz brand into various media and marketing channels. The senior member of the Photo Production team has unique responsibilities for the overall quality control for the processing of static content, including image order fulfillment and delivery. The incumbent will need to operate in a fast paced, intensive production environment, maintaining large volumes of photo assets from international and domestic photography shoots for our Starz Originals productions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for developing, optimizing and implementing photo processes and digital asset workflows for large volumes of photography, including acquisition, organization, metadata and taxonomy, rights, quality control, distribution and archiving.
• Acquire assets and assist in populating all content into multiple Digital Asset Management systems (DAMs).
• Assist the Director with balancing workload of image order fulfillment and photo ingest tasks.
• Recommend modifications to current-state workflows to drive efficiencies; refine and adapt processes to drive efficient and consistent practices among team members. Document and update business rules and guidelines; reinforce best practices.
• Track talent, publicity, marketing approvals, exclusivities and route approved assets to multiple departments throughout the show’s marketing campaign.
• Coordinate with Creative Services, Marketing and Publicity Departments to identify and communicate expectations and updates on photo delivery schedules across overlapping multi-channel marketing campaigns for Starz original programming.
• Research and analyze episode scripts and one-liners from our Starz Originals Series, identifying characters/cast in each image and tag appropriately. Additionally, identify supplemental metadata to enhance the searchability and filtering of specific content needs.
• Apply understanding of pre- and post-production cycles to assist departmental leadership with conceptualizing digital asset workflow requirements per series/season.
• Effectively use various digital asset management systems, image-editing software and metadata tagging tools to drive image asset management workflows.
• Fullfill image requests for external and internal clients, including routing assets for final approval and centralizing final assets for multiple media use. Perform digital imaging duties as needed including, resizing, cropping, Key and Title artwork assemblage.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; minimum four years related experience at a Design/Marketing Firm or related industry; Experience in working with image-editing and RAW conversion software, such as Capture One Pro or Adobe Lightroom and converting RAW-formatted files into processed derivatives and proficient in Adobe Bridge and Photoshop; and/or training; And/or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Ability to work across multiple productions and projects, and large volumes of data/content while prioritizing and managing time and resources effectively.
• Previous background working with digital asset management systems a plus.
• Previous background in the entertainment industry, ad agency or design firm, or conventional/digital photography background a plus.
• Proficient technical knowledge in Mac and PC hardware and software.
• Consistent demonstration of growth in skills and knowledge of practice areas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
