Condé Nast is seeking a creative, self-motivating Email Strategist. This is a strategic consulting role tasked with developing Condé Nast’s email audience across our network. This includes building distribution lists, driving loyal visitors to our digital platforms, identifying ways to achieve email initiatives and hit KPIs, and optimizing our email product offerings. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, as well as the ability to actively identify and work towards solutions in a hands-on manner.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee implementation of corporate email strategy for all Condé Nast brands
• Partner with brands to develop customized strategic initiatives balancing both corporate and brand goals
• Interface regularly with key stakeholders at each brand, and proactively contribute to strategic recommendations
• Develop effective email acquisition strategies with a focus on organic growth
• Provide recommendations and track performance on A/B testing, creative & content optimization
• Liaise and develop relationships with audience development, database operations, product, editorial, and technology teams to implement and facilitate brand and corporate projects
• Partner with analysts to develop measurement & success criteria
• Proactively identify brands’ opportunities for improvement
• Develop and present training programs for editors
• Produce and distribute best practice documentation
• Develop new email products
• Partner with email revenue lead to develop revenue-generating email products
• Advise editorial and marketing teams on best practices & legislation
Requirements:
• BA/BS or equivalent working experience.
• 4+ years’ experience in email strategy, particularly in the publishing space.
• Experience with both content-based email for publishers, and promotion-based email for marketers.
• HTML coding experience preferred, especially for email.
• Expertise in email compliance and regulations.
• Excellent understanding of email execution concepts and metrics, deliverability, and best practices.
• Proficiency in marketing automation technologies.
• Experience with Silverpop, Sailthru, Mailchimp, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong understanding of data management and data exchange concepts.
• Highly organized and able to balance a multitude of ongoing projects and initiatives across brands.
• Highly analytical and capable of deriving meaning from data through testing and optimization.
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Google Analytics knowledge a plus.
