Bose Corporation is seeking a talented Operations Manager to join the Applied Research group within our Consumer Electronics division. As a member of the Planning and Operations team, the Operations Manager will lead efforts to develop and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Applied Research group through integrated processes and tools. The Operations Manager should be engaged and knowledgeable about the work happening in the department to make recommendations on a course of action and execute throughout the organization.
Responsibilities, skills, and educational requirements are as follows:
• Establish operational objectives and assignments including the daily activities of admins
• Develop methods to track resource demand and allocations on projects to highlight gaps or available capacity. Perform monthly analyses on resource consumption vs. plan. Perform monthly analysis of overhead and ODC expenses vs. plan. Support annual FY departmental budgeting activities.
• Manage internal and external communications including corporate-level innovation updates and open houses, department priorities, staff meetings, weekly project status updates and sprint reviews.
• Manage operational aspects of external contractors, including NDAs, Consulting Agreements, and schedule/cost performance.
• Manage general purchasing processes, expenses and approval loops.
• Manage department’s compliance with IRS time reporting, GDPR data privacy, safety and OSHA.
• Coordinate and track department’s hiring of full-time employees, summer interns and co-ops.
• Manage new hire onboarding, team building events, off-sites, and Bose Technology Conference event planning.
Skills:
• Proven ability to change thinking of and gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Experience with visual management tools such as Trello, Confluence Wiki, Sharepoint
• Experience with SAP and other enterprise-level application software
Education: BS/BA degree in business or related field with minimum of 7 years of experience in operations or project management. Electronics and audio experience preferred.
