To expand our commitment to promoting cross-pollination of ideas beyond the life sciences, Cell Press will be launching journals in the physical sciences. Cell Press has already successfully taken its formula of world class author service and innovative approaches to publishing into the chemistry and energy research communities, with the launches of Chem and Joule. We are now launching journals in additional areas and we are seeking talented scientists with expertise in the areas of:
• Environmental sustainability
• Materials
• Physics
• Chemistry
In an editorial role on one of these new journals, you will help scientists publish their best work, stay abreast in your field, expand your networks in the scientific community through travel to conferences and lab visits, and have the opportunity to think about new ways of publishing scientific content.
Qualified candidates will have:
• A PhD or other relevant doctoral degree in a field related to one of the above topics
• A passion for helping scientists publish their work.
• Experience as a full-time professional editor is a plus, but not required.
• Enthusiasm for working with people. Collaboration and networking are core aspects of the job.
• The ability to think conceptually and critically about a wide range of scientific issues.
• A results-oriented approach to goals and objectives.
• Strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize, focus, and achieve desired goals.
