Elsevier’s Clinical Solutions is looking for a VP of Digital Content Programs to join our Digital Content team. As the lead for this team you will play a crucial role in aligning disparate content creation processes, inspiring innovation and efficiencies, and helping to transform the function into a strategic engine of the company. You will help lead the development of the end to end digital content strategy, roadmap and define success for the group. You will work closely together with all other stakeholder groups such as Product, Informatics, Technology and Commercial to support our overall goals.
The role will focus on defining optimal content creation processes across 7 disparate content groups. These could include innovation leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies. You will also need to have a deep understanding of how our content creates value for our customers within our products and define where opportunities for synergies are as well as need for differentiation. You will report to the Senior Vice President of the Digital Content group.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess editorial needs and processes across current content teams to identify strategic areas of overlap and opportunities for improvement
• Own execution and ongoing success of operational improvement efforts
• Serve as the owner for multiple editorial tools (ACRES, GSDD, IDS editorial tools) and prioritize requirements across the teams. Serve as single voice for authoring platforms for Clinical Solutions Digital Content
• Interface with the content innovation team to identify how we can build content leveraging technology such as machine learning and artificial intelligence
• Understand industry trends in digital content development, maintenance and operations and leverage insights to recommend improvements for Elsevier
• Define language translations strategy and work with Elsevier Operations to identify opportunities for efficiency
• Work with international teams to establish rules of engagement for global expansion / localization of content
• Assess operational capabilities across teams and work closely with Product and Informatics to optimize digital content delivery
• Understand the Clinical Solutions business strategy and product strategy to best enable a strategic and operational transformation within digital content
• Inform the end state vision for digital content and define and track metrics for success
• Represent Digital Content and evangelize, both internally and externally, the value of Clinical Solutions Digital Content
• Support digital content strategy, content creation processes, content optimization and commercial efforts related to digital content
• Serve as a critical member of the Digital Content leadership team to identify and own cross team initiatives
• Interface with internal customers (IT, Product, Commercial, Informatics, Sales, Marketing, etc.) to ensure the needs of the business are understood and incorporated into the digital content vision
Required qualifications
• Minimum of 10+ years in healthcare market
• Experience in working in cross-functional teams
• Experience in digital content development
• Process improvement experience and Lean Six Sigma preferred
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong strategic perspective and stellar execution and operational leadership
• Results oriented
• Experience in transformational projects
• Entrepreneurial skills and good in starting up new initiatives
• Domestic Travel required, approx. 30%-50
