JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox NE&O is seeking a Manager of Post-Production Engineering who will be responsible for supervising the team of Post-Production Maintenance Engineers which support the day to day Post-Production technical operation at FOX Network Center. This position is based in Los Angeles, CA at the FOX Lot.
Responsibilities:
• Works with the Maintenance Engineering department leads and Engineering staff to provide engineering support and recommendations to internal departments regarding existing and new technologies to fulfill technical requirements.
• Provides facility design input, project & budget management support, and oversees the equipment maintenance, upgrades and repairs at the facility.
• Provides engineering support and guidance to the EICs during planning process for shifts and facility upgrades.
• Reports important facility issues to Engineering management and work quickly with the Engineering staff to take corrective courses of action.
• Provides input for the maintenance and upkeep of broadcast and post-production related equipment.
• Coordinate and execute client-based projects with Operations and Management
• Administrates maintenance procedures regarding the day to day operation of the technical facility.
• Directly interact and communicate with clients, especially when technical questions or issues arise
• Provides support tracking the department’s operating budget and input during the capital budgeting process.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in television engineering sustaining management
• BS degree or equivalent experience in electronics or broadcast engineering or communications preferred
• Must be knowledgeable in all areas of post-production and familiar with Broadcast television equipment
• Must be knowledgeable with post-production applications such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe CC Suite and subsequent supporting Post-Production standard plugins
• Understanding of large scale NAS/StorNext SAN environments utilizing fiberchannel or networking infrastructure for video/audio/file based workflows
• CCNA and MCSE certification desired
• CAD experience desired
• Strong analytical/communicative skills essential
• Reasonable mathematical skills required; strong reasoning Skills & technical troubleshooting skills essential
