JOB DESCRIPTION
The Special Projects Producer is responsible for researching, creating and coordinating live and taped interviews, segments and stories for KDFW-FOX4, FOX4news.com, digital channels, and FOX O&O stations. Must have strong research, investigative and database skillsets. Must be experienced in mining and posting social media material. This Producer will develop and plan content in conjunction with News Producers, Reporters and Supervisors. Contact and schedule interviews. Write and produce stories, create and contribute digital content, edit video, and produce graphics. Produce newscasts and perform other duties as assigned.
Four (4) year college degree in Communication or Journalism required. Three (3) to Four (4) years’ experience as a Special Projects or Newscast Producer in a medium to major market required. Must have strong knowledge of legal and ethical parameters for mass media. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Strong working knowledge of the technical aspects of television news required, including digital and web based newsgathering tools. Must be able to use newsroom computer systems including BitCentral/Edius and iNews. Strong written and communication skills.
