Saga Press is looking for a dynamic freelance marketing & publicity manager to handle their stellar list of adult science fiction and fantasy titles.
Responsibilities include:
• Attend all Saga Press planning meetings with editorial, sales, etc.
◦ Present plans at sales meetings
Develop & implement title specific and branded marketing campaigns, including:
◦ Marketing materials such as sell sheets, samplers, promo items, etc.
◦ Develop and maintain account, big mouth, and influencer mailing lists
◦ Research, create, and implement advertising campaigns
◦ Community management of Saga Press social channels (Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Instagram), including content planning, execution, and posting as well as fan, author, and media amplification/engagement
◦ Work with corporate digital marketing group to feature Saga titles in science-fiction and fantasy themed e-blasts
• Responsible for all publicity strategy and execution, including:
◦ Develop and execute publicity plans
◦ Work closely with Saga authors
◦ Secure media coverage for all Saga Press titles (broadcast, print, online), including exclusive cover reveals and excerpts, author interviews and round-ups with key fantasy and sci-fi media outlets and bloggers
• Create mailing lists and press materials
• Schedule seasonal pitch meetings/calls with SFF-focused media contacts
• Coordinate author book tours and book local area events
• Secure speaking/signing opportunities at San Diego Comic-Con, New York Comic-Con and many other SFF focused conferences around the country
• Coordinate seasonal submissions of upcoming publishing calendars
• Coordinate seasonal submissions for SFF-focused literary awards
Qualifications:
Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:
• Book publishing experience working on sci-fi/fantasy titles, preferably in publicity
• Excellent media contacts
• Experience working directly with authors
• Ability to work independently
• Superb written and verbal communication skills
