Position at Journal Gazette & Times-Courier
The Journal Gazette/Times Courier is seeking a Sales Account Executive to join our dynamic team. This position will be responsible for sharing the many benefits of our advertising products, as well as online advertising, with new accounts and current clients.
This is a fast-paced, challenging position that requires a self-starter, someone ready to hit the ground running with no limits on success. Our sales staff is equipped with the latest, most up-to-date research and is fortunate to sell the leading media advertising in Central Illinois, whether that is print or online. Applicants must be forward thinking and able to apply the many benefits of print and digital advertising to a variety of businesses.
Successful candidates will have the following:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or related area
• 1-2 years of successful sales experience or equivalent education and experience
• Good communication skills
• Must possess an understanding of retail and commercial business for effective sales presentations
• Ability to effectively present information
• Ability to work well with and through people
• Ability to sell - getting people interested and then closing the sale
• Ability to make cold calls to generate new business
• General knowledge of newspaper operations is a plus
• Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and dependable automobile is required.
