Instead, it’s just beginning - we work side-by-side with educators and school leaders, fitting our products into the lived reality of classrooms and schools.
The Administration and Operations Lead will be a crucial member of our staff, supporting key executives and important cross-functional activities. S/he will roll up their sleeves - scheduling, managing expenses, etc. - and in the process learn the business from the ground up.
The Administrative and Operations lead will be responsible for:
• Core executive support - Expenses, scheduling, travel planning (70%)
• Special Projects - Event planning, presentation development (20%)
• Learning the business - Getting to know Amplify’s products, people, and work (10%)
To do all that well, we think the Administration & Operations Lead needs to:
• Have outstanding attention to detail - crosses t’s, dots i’s, rinses and repeats - s/he is uncomfortable with anything less than 100% accuracy
• Exercise judgment - applies business savvy, common sense, and logic to “figure it out” when handed a challenging or ambiguous assignment
• Operate at high velocity - moves quickly and with bias to action; if email doesn’t work, you pick up the phone; if phone doesn’t work, you show up on their doorstep
• Recognize patterns - quickly learns expectations and needs of executives and colleagues
• Build authentic, trusted relationships across Amplify - being a force for forward movement, but also kindness, gratitude, and respect
Our Administration & Operations Lead will have most of these qualifications:
• You want to hit the ground running in a fast-paced company - starting with assistant activities and, based on performance, developing into an operating business role in ~18 months - 2 years
• You care deeply about education and children in America, and believe technology can be a force - alongside committed educators and communities - for positive change
• You have a college degree, and maybe 0-1 years experience
• You have experience working with high-velocity executives - maybe you’ve worked in a political office, or TA’d for a rockstar professor
• You have coordinated complex activities - maybe you started your own business, coordinated a large volunteer project, or directed a musical
• You have experience rolling up your sleeves - maybe you’ve cold-called hundreds of potential donors, or managed an executive’s back-to-back schedule
