AMC Networks is looking for a Temporary Financial Analyst inside its New Digital Business Group. This dynamic group is focused on new streaming content businesses and currently operates the high-growth streaming video subscription services: Shudder, dedicated to suspenseful and thrilling entertainment, and Sundance Now, focused on indie and high-quality films, documentaries and original series.
Shudder and Sundance Now are the leading SVOD services in their respective categories. They offer the best in curated, exclusive and original programming and are accessible on all major streaming video platforms (web, iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, FireTV, Xbox, etc.). These services launched less than two years ago and are scaling and expanding globally at an explosive rate.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The financial analyst is responsible for the review and preparation of balance sheet and income statement account analysis and monthly accruals. The role will require applying US GAAP knowledge to review and account for operational transactions on a daily basis. The analyst will review disbursements to ensure proper general ledger coding, proper approval levels and adequacy of the supporting documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare disbursements, i.e. vendor payment requests and wires - ensure proper coding, authorization and budgetary approval and adherence to Company policy.
• Prepare monthly accruals in conformity with established procedures.
• Prepare and review analysis of various P&L and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in various other accounting and finance related projects as assigned.
• Special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.A., required in Accounting or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, Oracle experience is helpful.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Advanced accounting and analytical abilities.
• Effective project and time management skills.
• Ability to work well and excel under tight deadlines and periods of high volume.
• Self-starter and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Experience working in entertainment & media is a bonus.
