Nature Research, a division of Springer Nature, is looking to appoint a Sales Executiveto the North American Institutional Partnerships team based in New York. The Institutional Partnerships team works with universities, research institutes and governments to help them raise awareness, promote research excellence and impact and highlight achievements and areas of innovation.
As a Sales Executive you will be responsible for building relationship with key stakeholders at institutions throughout North America to deliver our online training platform, Nature Masterclasses Online. Working closely with the regional Institutional Partnerships Managers, you will be responsible for generating leads, improving product awareness, prospecting and cultivating relationships to propose and sell Nature Masterclasses Online.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a proven ability to drive new sales and achieve sales quotas , specifically the ability to increase product awareness, engage over the phone to identify customer's needs and effectively present how our solutions can address those needs. An understanding of scientific research and the scientific publishing process, proficiency in account planning, and excellent communication and project management skills are also essential.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Drive sales growth by expanding the portfolio of customers.
• Work against set call rates and other KPIs including tracking of pipeline and reporting against targeted goals.
• Work with team to develop strategic territory plan, increase and improve product awareness, maintain a healthy sales pipeline, deliver solutions and provide quality service to new and existing customers.
• Develop and maintain awareness/understanding of market, products, competitors and trends; demonstrate this knowledge when interacting with clients and internal teams.
• Serve as an industry expert; including active participation in the scholarly community, attending industry events and communicating relevant industry trends and best practices to clients – that ultimately create demand.
• Develop and maintain close relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the customer’s full satisfaction and relevant product updates/developments
• Work closely with members of other NRG Commercial sales teams to ensure that customer relationships are fully leveraged for all revenue types.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in STM publishing’s academic, non-profit or government markets
• Proven ability to drive new sales, achieve sales quotas and effectively increase year to year revenue growth
• Highly creative and resourceful in creating, recognizing and developing sales opportunities
• Self-motivated and committed team player who enjoys a fast-paced and results-oriented work environment
• Personable and detail-oriented with strong communication (written and verbal), organizational and time management skills
• Excellent conversation and presentation skills, with an ability to quickly establish rapport and effectively react in dynamic, customer-facing situations
• Proven ability to understand and quickly acquire in-depth knowledge of product line, carefully analyze customer needs and present solutions
• Strong project management skills with an ability to collaborate within a team environment
• Strong computer and research skills
• Ability to travel as needed
