Position Overview
As a member of the Corporate Accounting team, the candidate will have ownership of several technical areas of accounting and be in charge of special projects. The candidate will liaise directly with our entire Finance organization including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Revenue Operations, Sales and Division Finance, Procurement, Payroll and External Reporting. The candidate will also be integral to driving process improvements throughout the accounting function. The ideal candidate has corporate accounting experience in a global company with the ability to produce work of a high quality and initiate process improvements. The position will be located in the San Rafael Corporate headquarters (with flexibility to work out of our San Francisco office) and will report to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting.

Responsibilities
• Manage special projects for the Corporate Accounting team, including the Leasing project and Commissions capitalization project
• Draft technical accounting memos as required
• Manage accounting for the following areas: facilities, accruals, management reserves, employee compensation, commissions, and capitalized software
• Lead quarter-end Close meetings
• Manage BlackLine configuration, optimize usage and implement new modules as required
• Liaise with our external auditors for both quarterly and annual periods
• Analyze fluctuations in the Company's balance sheet on a quarterly basis and present explanations for significant variances to senior management
• Review general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries and other analysis to support the consolidated financial statements
• Work closely with division and geo finance teams to ensure corporate accounting policies are properly followed and periodic reporting requirements are met
• Analyze technical accounting issues and provide guidance to the Finance community, as required
• Help motivate and support staff development which includes providing on-going coaching and mentoring as well as supporting Autodesk career development initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
• 7-10 years of experience is required with at least 4 years in public accounting (Big 4 preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA qualification required
• Working knowledge of consolidation and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Experience with BlackLine a plus
• Experience in managing small teams and strong leadership skills in motivating staff
• An excellent knowledge of US GAAP and awareness of current accounting pronouncements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to explain complex accounting concepts to a non-technical audience
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Candidate must be process-oriented with the ability to critically review current procedures and policies and recommend and implement changes
• Ability to work well in a team and demonstrate strong leadership qualities with motivating staff
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work overtime during peak times such as quarter-end
