Description
The current strategic direction at the High Line is to reimagine the idea of public space; continue to maintain the High Line; and, to welcome and serve the diversity of New York City. Friends of the High Line (FHL) provides virtually all of the park's operating budget and philanthropy accounts for approximately $13 million of a current annual operating budget of $15 million.
As our Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for the execution of all HR policies and procedures with particular emphasis on employee recruitment, retention and performance management. As FHL expands its vision, this is an exciting opportunity to enact strategies that will shape the future of the High Line at a pivotal point in its history.
Responsibilities
Recruiting and Hiring
-Collaborate with hiring managers to execute all recruiting and hiring needs including job description development, position posting, resume sourcing, coordination of interviews, and selection
-Participate in the onboarding/orientation process and employee offboarding/transition process
-Partner with HR team to ensure our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is represented in the recruitment process
Employee Relations
-Execute the annual and mid-year employee review process
-Assist with disciplinary, performance management and terminations, as appropriate
-Support internal investigations
-Coordinate with HR Director on trainings related to HR policies and procedures
Payroll and Benefits
-Guide and administer the annual open enrollment process
-Oversee the administration of our 403(b), FSA, commuter benefits, FMLA Leave, Paid Family Leave, disability, worker’s compensation, and unemployment
-Monitor employee eligibility for employment benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and flex spending)
-Oversee payroll through ADP Workforce Now
General HR
-Assist in new policy development
-Work closely with the HR Director to ensure FHL remains compliant with federal, state and city employment and payroll regulations
-Ensure the completion of annual compliance reports (ACA, EEOC, worker’s compensation, etc)
Requirements
-Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and experience working in a culturally diverse setting
-Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 4 plus years of progressive HR experience
-Familiar with local, state, and federal employment law and regulations
-Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding in dealing with sensitive employee issues
-Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
-Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
-Excellent computer skills, including Google Suite, HRIS and payroll platforms and Excel
-SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred
