Job Overview:
The Coordinator of Commercial Operations will effectively ensure the accurate interpretation and execution of commercial media per agency-issued instructions. He/she will schedule daily broadcast logs according to deal guidelines, providing necessary separation and equitable distribution. The Coordinator will edit the logs in a strategic manner that will serve to maximize revenue. Working in the Wide Orbit traffic system, the Coordinator will liaise with both Promo Planning and Creative Services teams, matching sponsorship and promo elements in a cohesive and compelling flow simultaneously moving the SundanceTV brand forward.
Job Responsibilities:
Enter commercials in Wide Orbit upon receiving traffic instructions from various advertisers and apply copy accordingly, making any necessary revisions upon agency request. Assist in building, finessing and downloading the daily broadcast log, making logical sense of sponsored promos and traditional commercials, while adhering to advertisers' restrictions, including content sensitivity. Ensure all commercials are numbered, with correct ISCI codes and copy rotations assigned. Work with advertising agency traffic contacts, coordinating traffic instructions and spot delivery to B&T as needed. Maintain traffic contact document. Ensure that sponsored promos are delivered in a timely manner from Creative Services. Coordinate billboard production with CS, and schedule them on the log with traditional media accordingly. Troubleshoot any on-air discrepancies with B&T in a timely and effective manner. Provide Ad Sales with pre or post logs or air times reporting when needed.
Qualifications:
Management Skills Leadership ability a must. Ability to be resourceful and juggle several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Ability to be accommodating to last minute changes and requests. Strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational skills with an emphasis on paying attention to detail.
Technical/Functional Competencies Problem-solving skills – ability to work through oversell situations and work with software that sometimes has limitations. Ability to work with advertisers’ restrictions, making logical sense of breaks while adhering to deal contracts. Analytical skills – ability to study inventory, build a logical flow on the daily broadcast log, anticipate sell outs and construct media plans.
Key Experiences/Achievements 1-2 years experience in traffic, scheduling, media planning or production management with a national cable network. Gabriel and/or Wide Orbit experience a plus.
