Role
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for all financial activities for their assigned divisions including the monthly, quarterly and annual analysis of revenues and operating expenses. The role includes development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasting as well as the preparation of monthly actual vs. budget variance analysis, financial metrics and ad hoc analysis as directed. The analyst will work closely with the leadership of their designated divisions (likely to initially include the Motion Picture department).
Responsibilities
The Financial Analyst’s responsibilities include the following:
• Cultivate relationships within the assigned divisions to build a robust communication network.
• Become the go-to financial resource for division leadership, Agents, Executives and their staff.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and client activity.
• Analyze and follow up regarding open/future bookings to ensure data accuracy.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual operating plan and quarterly revised forecasts by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger and Trust systems.
• Prepare monthly P&L actual vs. budget reports for Division and Finance leadership.
• Evaluate monthly variances to budget.
• Project revenues by analyzing booking report data and working closely with Division key contacts.
• Track financial metrics to spot trends and communicate performance to management.
• Respond to Management questions through research and analysis.
• Provide management reports and analysis as requested.
• Assist in the implementation of a new budgeting ERP system.
• Complete system and process improvement projects as requested by Management.
Scope
Scope includes financial analysis of assigned Divisions as well as assignments directed by Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis leadership.
Education and Work Experience
BS or BA required with a concentration in Business Administration, Accounting or Economics preferred and an MBA a plus. Two to four years accounting and/or financial analysis experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required. Entertainment industry experience preferred.
