The Role
This position requires a seasoned Human Resources professional with excellent business acumen to function as a strategic adviser of our enterprise-wide comp and benefits programs and ensure long-term success of the organization and HR programs.
The Manager, Compensation & Benefits primary objective is to manage the oversight of a comprehensive compensation and benefits program. Ensures cost-effective benefit and wellness programs, and ensures the compensation, incentive and rewards programs remain competitive to attract and retain top talent. The successful candidate will possess critical skills in the areas of business process leadership, ability to influence and drive change along with technical depth in Human Resources.
Responsibilities
Provides overall day to day management to compensation benefits in the areas of:
• Investigates, analyzes, designs and administers the corporate employee benefit program with the goal of attracting, retaining and motivating employees as well as supporting the agency’s strategic plan
• In partnership with the Total Rewards, support the design, development and implementation of competitive compensation programs ensuring that they are aligned with department and Company strategies.
• Collaborate with Managers and Business Partners on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation
• Responsible for executing strategy, and governance of key initiatives for compensation
• Build long-term relationships with other leaders to help identify and agree on strategic priorities and roadmaps for initiatives and change to drive business value.
• Research and analyze internal/external data relating to C&B elements (including market trends and benchmarks) and match them to our company culture
• Be responsible for job classifications and ensure compensation practices are in compliance with current/local legislation
• Regularly review existing policies and programs and make recommendations for new plans or changes in existing plans, based on program metrics, company objectives, legislative changes and market trends
• Review and audit all benefit invoices for accuracy before submitting for final approval, resolving discrepancies with carriers.
• Prepare benefit and wellness related communications and presentations
• Administer Benefit systems for eligible employees
• Answer questions related to all benefit programs. Act as a liaison with broker or carriers for escalated issues
• Transforming from tactical to strategic value oriented
• Developing capabilities (functional and managerial) to operate in diverse circumstances
• Recommends changes in benefits and compensation strategies
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
• BA degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
• 5+ years’ compensation and benefits experience
• Workday experience is a plus
• Comprehensive knowledge of HR systems, compensation laws (i.e. FLSA, ADA) and strategies, benefits design, ERISA laws and tax laws as they relate to qualified benefit plans
• Excellent analytical and communications skills
• Experience processing and tracking Leaves of Absence
• Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal labor laws and payroll policies
• Strong written and communications skills
• Able to handle highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
• An outside-the-box thinker that stays on top of the industry’s best practices.
