PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
The Event Services Manager directs and coordinates the activities of the Events/Maintenance Team on all events occurring at or for the Apollo Theater. This includes in-house programing as well as outside rentals. This position requires a hands-on self-starter who must be able to fulfill any/all departmental functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Oversees all events set-ups according to the Apollo Theater calendar.
2. Coordinates all deliveries associated with events.
3. Responsible for the removal and installation of theater seating.
4. Responsible for the cleaning before, during, and after events.
5. Attends weekly Events Meeting and other Production Meetings as needed.
6. Enforces policies and procedures for maintaining operational and occupational safety standards.
7. Able to troubleshoot building issues during events.
8. Schedule and manage an events team of approximately 10 people.
9. Work alongside staff as needed.
10. Able to work days, evenings, overnights, and an irregular schedule as dictated by production calendar.
REQUIREMENTS
• Must have management experience including managing staff, payroll and scheduling.
• Strong communication skills.
• Effective organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• College degree a plus.
• Experience in a performance venue beneficial, but not required.
