Description
Museum quality fine arts picture frame shop is looking for a production manager to join our team. We are looking for a reliable self–starter with a dedication to superior craftsmanship, excellent organizational skills, and team leadership skills.

Title: Production Manager
Qualifications:
- previous experience managing workflow in a frame shop
- at least 2 to 3 years of hinging and fitting
- friendly team player who works well with others
- a deep understanding of materials and their properties, including but not limited to mats, acrylic/ glass glazing, and adhesives (specifically wheat starch paste), familiar with computerized mat cutting equipment, and of course a knowledge of proper art handling and packaging procedures
- extensive knowledge of types of rice paper hinges and other non-invasive mounting methods
- an ability to work systematically and take direction from worksheets
- takes pride in one’s craft and eagerly desires to increase skill set
Responsibilities:
- managing daily workflow and scheduling the work of other coworkers
- team leadership and ensuring orders are completed on time
- ordering materials and tracking orders for production timeline
- analyse workflow systems and make creative decisions about how to streamline processes and eliminate mistakes
- organize incoming shows, create and distribute work orders, making of spreadsheets, and keeping production schedule up to date
- facilitating communication throughout the shop about the status of different projects
- overseeing a clean work area and organization of supplies and delegating the help of other coworkers to that end
- updating location of art works with in the shop
- production work including but not limited to matting, hinging, and fitting of our client work
- quality control of framed artworks, including discussing with employees when things look great but also where there is room for improvement
- help oversee outgoing deliveries
Position: 4 to 5 days per week
Salary will commensurate with experience.
