Job Summary
Lead functional area within Marketing Strategy focusing on Innovation; including the use of latest upcoming trends in technology and marketing, and recommendation of creative go-to-market tactics based on viability that help CenturyLink gain greater share of voice and market. This includes, but is not limited to, strategies on digital marketing, video-based marketing, augmented reality, virtual reality, etc. Accountable for results, costs, methods, usage and adoption of this forward-thinking approach to marketing. This includes management of consulting engagements as and when necessary.
Job Description
• Create and drive the Innovation strategy for the Office of the CMO and staff directly impacting the deliverables for our customers with the goal is increasing and enhancing engagement with our customers resulting in lead generation and improved perception of the CenturyLink brand
• Program Manage high priority projects to ensure on-time completion and delivery of innovative tools/concepts. For example, 70% of information consumed by 2020 is predicted to be in the form of video, yet less than 10% of our content today is in video. How do we innovate to adopt a holistic video strategy to more effectively communicate with and engage our customers. Other examples include thought leadership, internal and external communications strategy, visualization technologies etc.)
• Using technology to influence brand and communications strategy to align with Marketing Strategy and deliverables creating a seamless connection and stronger brand identity
• Align top-line messaging and deliverables from the Office of the CMO, Brand, PR, AR, Comms into a cohesive Marketing Strategy that helps increase effectiveness of CenturyLink’s messages-in-market
• Create differentiated digital experiences for customers on industry trends for use by direct customers, channel partners, evangelists, and field sales at events, briefings, digital outlets (blogs, 3rd party publications), and 1:1 engagements.
• Heavy focus on Digital First mentality and work cross-functionally with the BU’s including a close relationship with IT to co-create and support the technical demands of this approach
Qualifications
• 15+ years’ experience in high tech industry
• Experience and proven track record of thinking outside of the box and driving change within a team or organization
• Creative mindset with overall understanding of Digital Transformation and the importance of it for our customers
• Ability to link customer needs with innovative solutions to reach and speak to the customer
• Understanding of the Digital Marketing landscape and proven track record of driving successful relationships with key partners such as IT, Sales, Marketing ecosystem and vendor partnerships
• Understanding of technology landscape for telco and CSPs, as well as ability to creatively express CenturyLink’s PoV and opinions on latest technology trends in the industry, including but not limited to AI, ML, Blockchain, security, etc.
• Deep understanding of Marketing planning cycles and Media Mix Planning within and outside of the Marketing organization in order to continuously drive innovation
• Strong communication skills with ability to organize and prioritize key issues for the CMO to facilitate his/her efficient decision making
