Overview
Studio 1847 is looking for a summer Event Production & Sponsorship Intern. This is a unique opportunity to learn about event marketing, sales strategy and network to enhance your professional portfolio. The Event Production & Sponsorship Intern will be involved in many aspects of our events, interacting with various departments throughout marketing as well as Tronc Inc. as a whole. In addition to working closely with event producers on some of our biggest events, this candidate will also support the sales team with sponsor prospecting, ideating unique activations, developing marketing material, supporting social media strategies, researching event marketing trends and developing ideas to further enhance our events calendar. We're looking for an intern with superb organizational skills, an energetic can-do attitude, and an interest in learning!
You are expected to be available to work 20 hours per week from May, 2018 through December 2018. We are flexible on starting and ending dates, though once established, we expect you to complete your term with us. You must be in enrolled in college and over the age of 21 as of June 1, 2018. No recent graduates.
Hourly rate: $11
Responsibilities
• Attend event planning meetings and events. Intern is expected to be available to work some evenings and weekends
• Assist staff in managing and planning logistics of the event (set-up, registration, break-down, etc.)
• Provide exceptional customer service to sponsors and partners during events
• Assist in preparing sales presentations and recap decks
• Prospect for new clients
• Research event marketing trends
• Propose ideas to improve services and events
• Provide support with social media efforts
• Edit event planning documentation including production schedules, timelines, contact sheets, etc
• Assist in general administrative duties
Qualifications
• Background in marketing, events or related discipline
• Excellent writing, research and interpersonal skills
• Social skills that reflect exclusive examples of professionalism, preparation, collaboration, service and creativity Social media experience preferred
• Previous sales and relationship management experience preferred
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where change is the norm
• Flexibility to support event activation during evenings and weekends
• Have reliable means of transportation
• Ability to lift boxes of up to 50 pounds
