The role requires leadership of, planning for and oversight of an assigned clinical marketing portfolio focused on brand awareness, lead acquisition, customer engagement and retention to an identified clinical healthcare provider target market. This target market may include healthcare provider leadership, physicians, clinical staff educators, medical librarians, nurses, allied health professionals, pharmacists and revenue cycle specialists within the provider hospital market.
The Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing programs in the health care space. Should have 8+ years integrated marketing experience including: direct marketing (both online and offline), thought leadership/content marketing, public relations and events (both online and offline.) The Senior Marketing Manager will be required to evaluate customer and competitive research, product roadmap, market conditions and results and implement plan changes as needed. Strong writing and analytical skills a must. Priority will be given to candidates with prior health care marketing experience.
Responsibilities
The senior marketing manager will work cross-departmentally to:
• Lead, develop, communicate and execute strategic and tactical marketing plans which are focused on defined business targets (i.e.new customer acquisition, customer retention/renewal, lead generation, revenue, migration targets). Marketing plans may be related to new and updated products or those sold through strategic reseller agreements.
• o Particular focus on one-to-many marketing programs including direct marketing, conferences, webinars, white papers, email/direct mail communications, advertising and social media.
◦ Drive thought leadership activities and go-to-market plan
◦ Support relationships with key organizations and business partners
◦ Develop and execute event and trade show strategies
◦ Develop collateral and assets with creative agencies
• Develop effective, targeted, value-based messaging based that demonstrates an understanding of customer business drivers and buying personas.
• Effectively manage a marketing budget and related priorities and investments.
• Garner market intelligence, including client feedback and competitive intelligence
• Contribute customer and sales feedback to product requirements process.
• Evaluate effectiveness of and make adjustments to marketing plans, activities and programs through use of industry data and metrics( which may include customer and competitive research, product roadmap, market conditions and campaign results)
• Collaborate across Clinical Solutions and other Elsevier marketing groups to maintain brand standards and create a holistic experience for prospective and existing clients.
• Enable and support the efforts of a professional direct sales force through clear market segmentation, product descriptions and messaging, appropriate competitive positioning, marketing collateral and internal coordination and collaboration and timely, effective knowledge transfer
• Develop team members through mentoring and coaching in complex subjects
Experience
Successful integrated marketing experience in a related field including: direct marketing (both online and offline), thought leadership/content marketing, public relations and events (both online and offline.) Priority will be given to candidates with prior health care provider and clinical IT marketing experience.
• 8+ years of integrated marketing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA preferred
• Prior digital content, education or healthcare marketing experience preferred.
• Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
• Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
• Understanding of the buying process and buyer personas for healthcare provider market, particularly in the area of Radiology and Pathology.
• Prior sales experience a plus
Travel
Willingness to travel as required (usually between 25-50%)
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA preferred, clinical credentials a plus.
