We are looking for an energetic, driven, customer focused HR Coordinator to join Elsevier’s Human Resources Team. The HR Coordinator will contribute to the accomplishments of Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Working Together
In order to be successful, the HR Coordinator will work closely with HR Business Partners to support Elsevier’s employee base in various functions of human resources. You will need to be well organized, display attention to detail with a strong concern for quality and accuracy. Possessing excellent customer service skills with a high degree of flexibility and initiative will further aid in your success in this role. You will report to a SVP, Human Resources. This position is based in Philadelphia, PA.

Your responsibilities
The HR Coordinator carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: implementation of services, policies and programs regarding employment; new hire onboarding, employee relations; training and development; benefits/compensation; acquisition support, credentialing requirements and reporting and metrics.
Administrative Support for SVP Human Resources
• Assist with travel arrangements and expense reporting
• Manage accounting for department expenses
• Schedule conference facilities and refreshments, coordinate calendars, manage attendance tracking as needed
• Keep departmental calendar as needed
Coordination and Support for Technology HR Business Partner Team
• Conduct exit interviews, record results on data sheet, assists HRBP’s and managers with exit procedures
• Technology Graduate Program support
• Maintain Tech Training log
• Order and maintain Tech US employee welcome gifts
• Partner with HRBPs to distribute welcome emails and conduct meet/greet call with Tech new hires
• Prepare severance packages and contact outplacement firm to initiate service for departing employees
• Research/Resolve various HR matters
HR Support Responsibilities as needed.
• Participate on project teams and work streams to improve HR processes and drive efficiency
• Support HR communications
• Assist with involuntary terminations: severance calculations, system notifications
• On-site support for local employee and training events
• Updating posters related to Labor Law compliance with regards to bulletins/postings locally
• Communication of Standard HRs: Office Closing, Summer Hours (site and/or group specific)
• Complete I-9 verification and collect any necessary paperwork
Skills
• Experience of the following tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Must possess excellent customer service skills with high degrees of flexibility and initiative.

Qualifications and Experiences
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, minimum of HS diploma required
• At least 3 years experience in a similar support role and an interest in Human Resources
