Job Description
Ubisoft is currently seeking a full-time Public Relations Specialist to join its public relations team in San Francisco. The Public Relations Specialist will report to a Senior PR Manager and will be responsible for supporting multiple aspects of Ubisoft’s product PR program in the U.S. The Public Relations Specialist will also play an instrumental role in spearheading the administrative processes and procedures for the entire PR department and the candidate should be an innovative thinker that proposes new ideas to benefit the whole department. The Public Relations Specialist has excellent verbal and written communications skills, a positive attitude, is an extremely well organized multi-tasker and team player.
Responsibilities:
• Identify, develop and implement public relations opportunities for software products with measurable results
• Respond to daily media inquiries in a timely and professional manner; act as spokesperson for assigned projects, know how to craft an appropriate comment and where to go internally to find the best answers
• Develop and maintain extensive network of print, online and broadcast mainstream and enthusiast media contacts, including managing the media database and compiling target media lists
• Research, write and edit all press materials including press releases, fact sheets, pitches, Q&As, media alerts, and presentations
• Craft creative pitch angles for products to garner press attention
• Manage product launches, media events, and press tours (both in-studio and on the road); staff press meetings and media interviews with designated spokespeople
• Deliver concise, timely and informative reporting on press activities, coverage, opportunities, successes and press feedback to internal constituents. Provide post-mortem analysis and competitive analysis
• Assist in the planning and execution of multi-product events
• Help maintain and manage PR department’s press extranet site, equipment inventory and product mailings
• Manage expenses to ensure budgets remain within desired projections
• Compose routine correspondence, reports and documents pertaining to internal communications.
• Collaborate with European counterparts across PR strategies and tactics, ensuring North American PR needs are represented
• Direct the PR intern on tactical projects
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications or related field
• 1-3 years experience in public relations
• Team player with a “can do” attitude
• Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task efficiently within a high pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
• Public relations agency experience required
• Avid social media user a plus
