Marketing Assistant - Putnam
The Putnam imprint in Penguin Random House is seeking a Marketing Assistant to assist the Director of Marketing and the Associate Publisher for Putnam, Dutton, Plume, and Berkley. This position will support marketing campaigns on both frontlist and backlist titles for Putnam, and on backlist paperbacks for the Putnam, Dutton, Plume and Berkley imprints. The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for managing sales requests, coordinating marketing meetings, writing sell sheets, and managing marketing packets, grids, materials and budget sheets.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Supporting title-specific and backlist-specific marketing and promotional campaigns.
2. Updating, organizing, and maintaining information in internal marketing database systems.
3. Performing online research for new media trends and contributing to Putnam’s social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram..
4. Proofreading title information sheets and coordinating materials on sales server folders in preparation for sales meetings.
5. Assisting the Sales, Editorial, Managing Editorial, and Art departments with incoming requests.
6. Liaising with the Publicity, Sales and Corporate departments on the promotion of backlist titles.
7. Monitoring sales and metrics associated with marketing promotions, assisting with metadata manipulation and clean-up, and analyzing backlist sales reporting.
8. Maintaining the backlist library room.
9. Providing general administrative support including answering phones, scheduling, filing, handling mail, performing book mailings, etc.

Salary for this position is $40,000. Full-time employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits program.
