The Professional Information Business (PIB) at Dow Jones plays a critical role in the delivery of key B2B products in order to be the power behind global businesses. We are a truly global business with a significant proportion of our customer base outside of North America. We provide information; data and analytics to help support and drive our customers key business decisions, and protect their organizations from risk. The PIB business is broken into four customer focused verticals to solve for user solutions: News & Insight, DNA, Risk & Compliance and PIB Alliances
These business units are continually looking to develop and innovative new products that will further serve our customer needs.
Position Statement
The Partner Activation and Onboarding Specialist has expert project and program management experience, and is responsible for supporting the PIB Alliance team in managing program scoping, planning, resource coordination, requirements preparation, testing, communications/marketing coordination, implementation, tracking, reporting, post-trial/activation/onboarding activities, and Partner support and management – with a focus on delivering on-time, on-budget/resource, within scope, and outstanding customer service.
This new role is responsible for providing guidance and solutions to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, and as such, will need to present, report, and facilitate consensus and alignment in a professional and timely manner.
The successful candidate is hands-on and highly detail oriented. We also require strong collaboration skills, the ability to multi task multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Strategy activities
• Work closely with PIB Alliance Team to identify Project Cycle activities, targets, and timelines to ensure the Team meets monthly, quarterly, and annual goals and KPIs.
• Define Activation and On-boarding strategies and develop tools for reporting/communications.
• Define key objectives, related KPI, track performances, and implement corrective actions to ensure alignment with business targets.
• Identify and propose improvements to Activation and Onboarding processes.
Primary Work Activities
• With the support of management, develop a program for managing projects that support the onboarding & activation of new alliances.
• Track and manage a pipeline of new and existing alliances that will all go through the activation & onboarding cycle.
• Identify and define scope, associated requirements, resources, stakeholders and delivery timelines for Activation and Onboarding activities.
• Continuously update progress of the pipeline to all stakeholders internal and external.
• Assess Alliance partner’s reporting requirements & capabilities and map to Dow Jones’s needs of the same.
• Manage both internal and external expectations on processes, timelines, approvals, and deadlines.
• Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations, activation, development and post on-boarding activities of new and/or existing Alliance accounts.
• Manage and mitigate scope creep to avoid where possible changes to project scope, plans, schedule and reports.
• Manage communications and coordination of internal resources and external Alliance resources in executing Activation and Onboarding activities.
• Manage the relationship between internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed project plans, associated artifacts, and project reporting to monitor and track progress, status and post activation activities.
• Develop presentations, spreadsheets, process maps, Gantt charts, and business requirements documents.
• Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long term goals.
• Coordination of all certification activities, including but not limited to technical/content requirements auditing and testing, integration solution testing, and reporting/billing testing.
• Coordination of post-activation compliance auditing and Partner follow-up.
Secondary Work Activities
Alliance Team Support
• Act as an evangelist and subject matter expert for the Alliance team – providing hands-on support to the Business Development Directors for all Activation/On-boarding activities.
• Assist Alliance Team with Trial/Integration Setup coordination and Pre-Activation activities.
• Coordinate and manage onboarding activities once Alliance Partners have been activated, including but not limited to communications, post activation follow-up, and Partner satisfaction assessment.
• Identify Alliance management process with team members during Trial, Pre-Activation, Activation, Post-Activation, Onboarding, and active-life phases to optimize resource/time requirements.
• Special ad-hoc project management and research activities.
Communication Activities
• Define optimal project communication strategies and carry-out communication between Alliance Partners (external) and internal teams.
• Obtain buy-in and consensus internally and externally for each Activation and/or Onboarding project. Maintain buy-in throughout the life of the activity, and once completed confirm & document satisfactory completion.
• Coordinate in association with Marketing, the communication activities, including but not limited to external Alliance Communication Plan, Marketing Plan, PR Plan, and internal Alliance Partner Promotion Plan, Sales Training, and internal departments for reporting updates.
• Coordinate and assist in the development of automating the development of the onboarding communications / Alliance engagement activities that include Welcome Emails, In-life Emails, FAQ and General Help Info, Public Site updates, and Alliance Resource Center updates.
KPI tracking and Reporting Activities
• Develop a series of KPIs to measure the activation and onboarding program success, to be approved by PIB management.
• Evaluate program effectiveness vs KPIs, monitor results and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure and report on cycle activities against monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and KPI goals.
• Continuously look for ways to improve program’s effectiveness and cost/resource efficiency.
• Work with Market Specialist Director to make monthly, quarterly and annual Activation/revenue KPI adjustments where necessary.
Experience/Skills
• Must be a self starter with entrepreneurial skills to identify how to progress multiple and varied projects with the new alliances the business forms
• Experienced in change management & creating and applying new processes
• Ability to articulate a vision and gain the buy-in of key stakeholders.
• Excellent presentation and written communication skills, with a attention to detail.

• Proficient PC skills required, including the use of Salesforce, office collaboration software, word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, & project management software.
