We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager Community and Video Experience to join our team in San Francisco. Our offices in San Francisco, Tokyo, and Chișinău develop the product, design, engineering, marketing and content for Crunchyroll and VRV -- we are media and technology experts, and we lead with our digital-first DNA to create experiences for our passionate communities.
As the Senior Product Manager for Community and Video Experience, you'll be responsible for crafting and executing on features related to making the Crunchyroll and VRV video experience more social for our viewers. Our fans don't just watch video - they celebrate it, debate it, and obsess about it. We want to build experiences that allow viewers to share their energy and passion in ways that makes the video experience better for everyone, and you'll be responsible for crafting a product vision and working within the organization to make it happen.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinating with product design and research to understand user needs and translate those insights into features
• Working as product owner for a cross-functional engineering team to prioritize, evaluate and deliver features
• Measuring effectiveness of features and sharing results and insights within wider organization
Skills Needed:
• Experience leading and building products and features, from inception to delivery
• Experience collaborating well with product designers to create well-crafted and functional experiences
• Strong written and communication skills to provide clear and concise requirements to engineering and QA/QE teams
• You know what's important to measure, how to measure it, and how to interpret the data to influence decisions and directions
• Demonstrated strong customer empathy skills to dig at what really motivates our audience when it comes to digital social interactions and how to translate those hypotheses into product concepts and tests
• You know how to build connections across the organization to get features delivered, from engineering to business to legal to brand
• Experience with building social and/or community features or experience participating heavily in online communities would be a solid plus, but isn't strictly required
• Experience with anime, animation, sci-fi, comedy, horror, or cult cinema content is strongly preferred, but isn’t strictly required (and if you’ve NEVER watched any of this content before, you might want to watch some content before the first interview)
