JOB SUMMARY
The Account Executive works closely to support senior members of the team to ensure that the strategy for media campaigns is implemented and followed through in a timely manner. This includes drafting and distributing press materials, facilitating incoming media requests, liaising with the press, and contributing to the organization of client events. The Account Executive will support on multiple client accounts at any one time. They will meet regularly with their line manager or Director to ensure the campaigns’ strategies and goals are being met and moved forward.
JOB DESCRIPTION
PR and Media Campaigns
• Builds and expands network of journalists and develops thorough understanding of how to pitch and secure press coverage across long- and short-lead outlets
• Pitches appropriate story angles to the media, driving forward the press campaign on a daily basis
• Responds accurately and appropriately to incoming media enquiries and requests for press materials and ensures the wider team are fully aware of all communications
• Issues press releases and invitations on behalf of clients
• Assists with the organization of press conferences, photocalls and press trips
• Drafts press releases and other written material for approval
• Sources images and clears permission for their use in editorial
• Sets up media images with caption and copyright permissions
• Schedules photo shoots and requests from film crews and photographers
• Contributes to the company’s social media channels
• Prepares press packs for journalists and organises the mailing of releases or other press material
• Implements social media posts for team’s clients across the company’s platforms
Account Administration
• Responsible for the administration of client accounts, including the timely clipping, tracking and reporting of press coverage, and effectively manages Account Coordinator(s)
• Updates all campaign documents for client accounts
• Assists with the coordination of monthly client meetings and takes/circulates minutes at client meetings as appropriate
• Plans and organizes press trips and press itineraries
• Ensures that all important client and industry dates are entered into the office calendar
• Maintains accurate client folders, filing and archiving for the team on a regular basis
• Communicates with other teams to ensure joined-up pitching cross-company and office
• Assists with client research and books any client-related travel for the team
• Ensures company website is updated with new team and client details
• Monitors Google alerts
Additional Responsibilities
• Acts as an ambassador for the Company and a role model for junior staff and interns
• Regularly updates the company database
• Contributes to the magazine rota for the office
• Circulates any relevant industry intel to teams and across offices as appropriate
• Assists with the training of junior staff and interns
• Attends client and non-client events in an official capacity
• Attends the Executive Team bi-weekly meeting and contributes to weekly staff meeting
• Performs any other task as required by Chief Executive, Vice President or Director
