Director of Patron Programs and Donor Engagement
Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer and working closely with the Director of Major Gifts and Strategic Initiatives, the Director of Patron Programs and Donor Engagement provides day-to-day leadership for the Clark Society, the Clark’s patron donor group. The Director, designs, plans, and executes stewardship and cultivation activities for Clark Society members and works with Advancement Department colleagues on prospect research analysis to create membership upgrade strategies. The Director also prepares and monitors budgets and develops marketing and fundraising materials.
The Director participates in regular prospect strategy meetings and takes primary responsibility for managing donor engagement for the Clark through Clark Society events and other cultivation activities, travel programs, VIP visits, and robust stewardship. By devising and implementing strategies that identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and close donations for patron membership gifts, ranging from $1,200 to $100,000, the Director is expected to meet aggressive goals for Clark Society giving.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree. S/he has progressively responsible and prior fundraising experience, with proven leadership and management skills. S/he has outstanding strategic, tactical, and organizational abilities as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. The successful candidate also has an approach to problem-solving that is highly collegial and positive in outlook and approach. Ability to work within a team environment that includes a combination of Advancement staff, Clark colleagues at all levels, and volunteer leaders is critical. Must have the ability to interpret and articulate vision.
