The position will lead the development and implementation of business procedures, create special financial and business related models, and lead cross functional organizations in the areas of asset management and financial analyses. The individual will need extensive experience in a variety of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. The position will have a wide degree of responsibility including cross functional and organizational process creation, development/implementation of controls, and defining strategic business recommendations. This position is responsible for the creation and analysis of various daily and monthly financial reports within the Engineering/Operations Organization. Duties also include preparing yearly budgets, performing financial analysis and research in such areas as capital and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, and working capital as well as preparing detailed forecasts and analysis on engineering trends in network, finance, general business conditions, and other related areas.
• Establish processes around material management, including equipment, software, and license tracking from a financial perspective; team with Fixed Asset Management to define new policies & methodologies
• Determine methodology and processes by which to reduce costs and overall inventory levels through
Purco purchasing and improved asset management
• Serve as a Project Leader/Manager for all financial related initiatives, including business cases, asset controls, and financial modeling
• Develop and implement processes, systems, and controls to monitor and reconcile financial activities, manage material purchases, deliveries, and material lifecycle.
• Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance where necessary as well as research and respond to internal/external audit requests.
• Develop business models and recommend decisions for allocation of resources and capital to senior leadership.
• Drive and develop business cases for the rollout of new technologies into the network
• Serve as the financial Subject Matter Expert for the organization, direct the work of and be a mentor for GEAs
• Organize and manage the creation of the capital and expense budget for engineering organization
• Provide financial expertise and guidance to leaders throughout the organization
• Team with Senior Leadership to combine strategic goals into a sound and workable financial model.
• Identify and implement mediation activities for all major expense variances within the budget.
• Perform independent analysis on unfavorable trends and make recommendations for necessary actions with the expense and capital budgets
• Create monthly capital and expense variance reports
• Lead monthly calls with department leads and senior leadership to review and recalibrate capital and expense variance reports.
• Create Budget Exception Reports (BERs)
• Provide RSO Capital Budgeting group with true-ups and corrections to WBS’s as required
• Provide analysis and make recommendations on where savings opportunities exist within the operating expense budget.
• Develop and report results oriented analysis to identify trends, track progress against key initiatives.
• Provide meaningful performance and financial forecasts/reporting.
• Perform quantitative analysis and develop business models to assist senior and executive leadership in making strategic decisions.
• Present business model plans and execution strategies to executive leadership when called upon.
• Ensure timely flow of consistent and accurate financial and operating information between regional network, national network, and corporate teams.
• Lead monthly calls with department leads and senior leadership to review and recalibrate capital and expense variance reports as well as coordinate year-end close processes to ensure spending is accurate and complete.
• Establish and communicate guidelines for WBS criteria to Project Managers and others who routinely request that WBS projects be set up.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Finance, or Telecommunications is required. Masters Degree in
Business Administration is preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience is required (Minimum for 5 years in Finance and Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Telecommunications with positions on the Engineering side of the business).
• Strong financial modeling ability for utilization in budget and forecasting processes.
• Subject matter expert in using SAP and SAP reporting tools required
• Ability to direct groups and lead projects
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Knowledgeable in Business Intelligence technology

• Proficiency in using Excel and other Microsoft Tools is required.
