Description
We are looking for a creative, culturally-engaged, and media-savvy Intern to become an integral member of our cross-departmental content team. The candidate should have experience with social media strategy and content development, editing (short- and long-form), and design, and be a strong writer, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and a team player. We are seeking someone who is well versed in today’s trends and developments in arts and culture, and passionate about creating content that will help to ensure the ongoing impact of culture in today’s complex landscape.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Intern will support strategists and designers in the creation of original content and social media campaigns for each of LaPlaca Cohen’s social media and communications channels, including those of our Culture Track initiative, which entails:
• Managing logistics between the Strategy, Design, and leadership team.
• Monitoring each of LaPlaca Cohen’s communications channels (including social media and web platforms).
• Creating and participating in discussion forums across LaPlaca Cohen’s communications channels, and proactively working to build our following and engagement base.
• Writing short- and long-form content around key cultural topics, incorporating findings from LaPlaca Cohen’s study of cultural audiences, “Culture Track.”
• Providing support for strategists’ and designers’ external interviews for content pieces, preparing bios and discussion guides, and coordinating logistics.
• Providing production support for video and audio content.
• Providing support for LaPlaca Cohen’s reference database of relevant articles and research (The Knowledge Base).
REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to manage simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and collaboratively.
• Exceptional research, writing, copy-editing, problem-solving, and social media skills.
• Demonstrated dedication to and passion for the cultural and creative world.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Word, and Excel is a plus.
• Working knowledge of video and audio editing is also a plus.
