Desktop / IT Support Administrator with Graphic Design Skills
A fine art and antiques Internet auction house is seeking an entry-level IT support professional with strong graphics design skills for a position in their New Braunfels, Texas office. This full time position is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who wants to begin a career in the top of the market online art auction arena.
Responsibilities:
• Daily Mac support and troubleshooting, including computers, printers, servers, mobile devices
• Creating both print and online ads and promotional materials for the auction house and fulfilling design requests as needed
• Writing sales reports and results for press releases
• Listing auctions on the web using custom business applications
• Working with other IT professionals in duties ranging from social media scheduling to IT support/customer service
• Working with auctioneers to assist them in learning and utilizing the auction platform
• Communicating with all users of the auction platform - buyers and sellers - trouble-shooting user issues
• Working with the consignment team in property management
• Basic maintenance of Mac servers, including backups and updates
• Supportive help in maintaining infrastructure across New York and Texas locations, primarily Macintosh and Apple products
• Responsible for keeping track of company licenses, assets, contracts, etc.
• Website updates and maintenance
• Aiding co-workers in other tasks as necessary and fulfilling other requests of supervisors
Qualifications:
- Our ideal candidate has a BA, preferably with some art and IT/Web Design classes
- Must be able to safely move art objects, up to 50 pounds
- Must know and be able to create with: Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign
- Must have familiarity with computer scripting
- Must have an aptitude for website coding and ability to understand databases and how to modify them
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as well as the ability to work with others
- Must be a versatile worker who is capable of self-starting, organizing priorities quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and be able to find creative solutions to problems as they arise
- A high level of willingness to work in any capacity is essential
Also helpful:
- Some knowledge of applications such as Filemaker Pro, HTML/CSS/PHP, and cloud technologies
- Knowledge of Webflow
- Experience with art galleries and auction houses, or degree in art history
- Experience in marketing, business administration, or client service
- Knowledge of Chinese or Japanese language
