Job Description
Overview:
Blue 449 is looking for a Media Supervisor to join our team. This position will work on multiple accounts and report to a Media Director while managing a team of media planners. We are looking for a hard-working and talented individual who is passionate about building and growing his or her career in the digital marketing field. Experience in planning and activating across key social platforms is a must.
Responsibilities:
Media Competencies
• Guide and drive media strategies for client account(s): define objectives, continually evaluate, and employ best-in-class technology to deliver optimized performance for clients
• Supervise, direct and review the development and implementation of specified media plans
• Provide and/or guide strategic input for all plans internally and externally
• Oversee, author and/or constructively edit and review the writing of media documents (timelines, POVs, RFPs, plans, agreements, client memos, and correspondence from within and outside the agency)
• Understand and actively seek online media solutions to assist clients in achieving specific goals and objectives
• Troubleshoot ad delivery and ad performance
• Manage the scheduling, posting, and tracking of advertising, and compile regular performance reports
Relationship Development
• Build, maintain and grow client relationships and client business
• Lead regular media meetings with clients and providing insight into weekly online media results
• Lead client presentations
• Ensure key information is provided to team in a timely manner including any client issues, internal agency issues, vendor issues, etc.
• Build and maintain relationships with media publishers and internal agency counterparts
• Staying apprised of new and emerging technology, creative and programming applications for potential use for clients
Financial Competencies
• Develop and maintain media plans and monitor all approvals and client budgets
• Work closely with media director to manage account profitability
• Manage all campaign financials and forecasting process
• Review site invoices and work with Accounting and Account Services to ensure accurate payment and prepare campaign reconciliations
• Accurate and timely reporting of billable and non-billable time
Leadership & Management Competencies
• Motivate, develop, train and help to evaluate team members
• Demonstrate problem solving skills
• Management of junior team members as needed to educate and motivate
• Assist in developing Blue 449 media team members into highly respected and trusted team members by helping to grow their skill-sets and thought-processes
• Knowledge-sharing with all team members
Qualifications
Requirements:
• A minimum of 6 years of online media planning and negotiating experience in an interactive agency, including experience managing a team
• Bachelor’s Degree in advertising, marketing or related program
• A complete knowledge of interactive marketing concepts and practices as well as a familiarity with offline media concepts
• Strong mathematic and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with 3rd Party Adserver (DFA Certified preferred)
• Working knowledge of online research tools such as Nielsen, @Plan, AdRelevance and other media software
Desired Characteristics:
• Excellent presentation, negotiation, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills, as well as strong attention to detail
• The ability to multi-task on numerous accounts, often with minimum direction
• The ability to work well with a team; function as a leader, and also work independently
• Experience analyzing complex data, market research, and formulating actionable plans
