The Penguin Random House Digital Video team is seeking an Associate Video Producer. The primary role of this position is to produce, shoot and edit a range of videos featuring PRH authors and books. Some projects will be filmed in-studio, others will be filmed on location, and others will only involve editing/graphics. The Associate Video Producer will report directly to the PRH Senior Video Producer.
The Associate Video Producer will be asked to:
• Work with PRH marketers to refine video project concepts
• Act as lead during video shoots assigned to Associate Producer
• Operate camera/audio/lighting equipment during shoots
• Edit video projects to completion including title treatment, audio, color, graphic animations, etc.
• Research and keep up with external video initiatives/innovations
• Assist in the training/communication of video endeavors to internal Penguin Random House audience
• Brainstorm and pitch original ideas for creative video project development within the digital video team
Your Profile:
The ideal candidate:
• Has 2+ years experience in the video production world (producing, shooting, editing); Will be required to send a reel/portfolio of sample projects
• Is an excellent listener, can display patience and level-headedness especially while fielding time-sensitive requests (client-facing experience a plus)
• Has advanced experience/familiarity with either Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere Pro
• Has basic experience/familiarity with motion graphics editing software such as After Effects or Apple Motion (required); Advanced knowledge not required but is a major plus (at the very least a willingness to develop this skill is preferred)
• Has a working knowledge of video production gear: camera, lighting, audio, etc.
• Has a basic working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator (not required but a major plus)
• Is very familiar with YouTube, FB Video, FB Live, Instagram and similar digital video distribution platforms
• Solid creative writing skills. Interest and/or experience in creative prose or scriptwriting is a plus.
• Is comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Is comfortable with Google Docs (Spreadsheets, Forms, etc.)
• Is comfortable with both Mac and PC
• Has an interest in books, authors, publishing (a plus)
