Digital Marketing Manager - SEO/SEM - CQ Roll Call
Introduction
CQ Roll Call is made up of two sister companies, CQ and Roll Call. CQ builds software for government relations professionals. Our market-leading tools include legislative and regulatory tracking, news and analysis, grassroots and grasstops advocacy, advocate and donor acquisition, and consultative services.

Currently, CQ is seeking a Digital Marketing Manager for SEO/SEM.
The Digital Marketing Manager for SEO/SEM will own our organic and paid acquisition campaigns. These will include planning, executing, and optimizing all SEO and SEM activities. At the outset, this will be primarily an SEO role, with expanded SEM work dependent on the success of initial SEM campaigns. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving traffic to our various web properties and ultimately to opt in to marketing programs.
Accountabilities
In the role you would be expected to:
• Plan and drive SEO and SEM strategy
• Research and select keywords to target
• Implement a brand voice that specified target segments respond to
• Optimize copy on all product pages to increase our search rankings
• Write copy for SEO-driven landing pages
• Write blog posts as needed (in coordination with the Director of Content)
• Manage AdWords and Google Analytics
• Manage social media
• Own public presence on 3rd-party websites (LinkedIn, G2 Crowd, etc)
• Monitor competitor activity, including their digital marketing efforts, SEO positions
• Acquire backlinks
Experience, skills and professional attributes
To succeed in the role you must have:
• 3-5 years of digital B2B SEO/SEM experience
• Google Analytics and AdWords certification strongly preferred
• Extensive experience managing all aspects of comprehensive organic and paid acquisition
• Extensive experience planning, implementing, and optimizing SEO and SEM programs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent project management skills
• A proactive, problem-solving approach to marketing
• Strongly collaborative style (SEO touches everything that Marketing does)
Preferred qualifications:
• SEO/SEM certifications
• Power user of Excel
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS
• Familiarity with the government-relations market, extra points for familiarity with digital advocacy
To succeed in the role you will be able to demonstrate:
• Successful SEO/SEM campaigns that drove target segments to web assets and converted them into a Marketing funnel
• Examples of keyword research that honed in on the words and phrases a target segment uses, not the broad public
• Strong conversion metrics on previous campaigns
• Creative approaches to SEO/SEM. Campaigns that worked “outside of the box” and drove success
