The Director of Sales Operations is a highly visible leadership role, managing a team of individuals responsible for pre and post-sale campaign activities and the development and growth of client relationships for Condé Nast’s advertising business. The role oversees a team of Account Managers and Sales Planners who are aligned with Conde Nast’s Sales organization. More specifically, the team is tasked with delivery of strategic media plans and packages, highly analytical wrap reports and recommendations for upsells and renewals that are aligned with clients’ business objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Set team goals and development plans for individuals on the team to support their enrichment and longer-term career development
• Develop talent, educate/train teams, and drive a culture of excellence
• Focus the team on achieving campaign benchmarks and operating goals tied to close rates, renewal and upsells
• Provide proactive recommendations to improve the campaign execution processes, including recommendations to update configuration of systems and workflow
• Partner with Sales to provide strategic direction on product and packaging strategies that are aligned with client KPIs and goals
• Partner with editorial and Marketing to identify and implement strategies to grow digital advertising offerings for clients (i.e. up-level digital offerings in all tentpole and custom programs)
• Be point of escalation and facilitate conversations around sensitive client service needs, working with the team to quickly resolve campaign issues
• Partner with internal teams such as Sales, Business Affairs, Revenue Operations, and Ad Ops to ensure the team is working most effectively with other departments involved in the sales process
Desired Skills and Qualifications
• 8+ years of client service experience in the Advertising industry
• BS, preferred in Marketing or Business (or other related field)
• Proven track record of leading successful customer-focused teams and driving incremental revenue
• Demonstrated success at working with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships both internally and externally
• Ability to identify opportunities for workflow and systematic improvements to enhance team efficiency and workload
• Ability to partner with Sales and Marketing teams to identify product and packaging needs to meet client KPIs
• Ability to multi-task across multiple projects and stakeholders at all levels of business
• Approach work with a sense of urgency and accountability
• Excellent organization and communication and skills
• Proficient in Keynote, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
• Experience with Ad Sales platforms and Ad Technologies: Salesforce.com, DFP, AdBook, IAS, MOAT
