Overview
The position of Analyst, Pricing & Analytics, actively engages with multifunctional teams, internal customers, and Marketing & Sales leadership to understand our customer needs, recommend and execute profitable pricing strategies and monitor business performance in key areas. This position is responsible for implementing pricing and other revenue optimization strategies that contribute to overall revenue and benefit our authors.
As a member of a global pricing team community, this position will support and implement the deployment of global pricing strategies, recommend and test new ideas, and adopt best practices and policies identified by the US and global pricing teams.
This position reports to both the Director of Finance and SVP, Mkt Insight & Sales Ops North America and will be sitting in the New York Headquarters.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate promotional activities with local digital and physical sales teams.
• Conduct analysis and monitors operational execution of pricing internally and at the retail level.
• Conduct analysis and monitor markets and competitor trends – on all elements that impact revenue performance.
• Partner with our Data Scientist to analyze data and implement and adapt pricing recommendations and best practices.
• Oversee internal pricing process, recommendations, operations and implementation - including working closely with IT, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Global data teams, Global pricing team(s).
• Build and maintain pricing analysis reports and communicate to relevant stakeholders.
• Become a key source of pricing knowledge for the business.
• Share reporting and findings in bi-monthly global pricing update meetings.
Qualifications
• Must have education in Economics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field(s)
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar or related role
• Hands-on experience with data sets and delivering insight
• Experience in pricing / data analysis/ economics, statistics or related field, experience in other settings is advantageous
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Tableau
• Hands on experience with database queries (SQL, MS Access) is a plus
• Outstanding problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills – positive attitude and team player
• Self-motivated and manages with high integrity
