Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring company accounting policies are applied consistently by all accounting teams. Responsible for ensuring all accounting controls are properly documented and are operating consistently. Responsible for identifying training needs and resources and assisting the other managers in Accounting with increasing the skills of the larger team.
Job Description
• Ensuring company accounting policies are applied consistently by all accounting teams through:
◦ Participating in weekly discussions with all US domestic accounting directors
◦ Administering and monitoring the BlackLine reconciliation tool
◦ Testing of account reconciliations
◦ Testing of journal entry support
• Responsible for ensuring all accounting controls are properly documented and are operating consistently.
• Responsible to work with the Internal Audit and SOX team to:
◦ Assess all accounting errors for control deficiencies
◦ Assess the severity of any control deficiencies
◦ Planning control deficiency remediation efforts
◦ Tracking status of deficiency remediation effortt.
• Responsible to work with the Accounting team directors to assess the training needs of the organization and to ensure that individual training plans are in place and followed.
• Work with the Accounting team directors and HR to plan and coordinate recruiting and hiring activities. Administer the internship program for the Accounting department.
• Work with the Accounting team directors for other administrative activities, as assigned.
• Function as the subject matter expert on records retention policies and practices, and see that the policies are followed throughout the Accounting department.
Qualifications
Required
• 5 or more years of progressive accounting or external reporting experience
• Bachelors in Accounting or equivalent certification
• Strong accounting acumen and knowledge of US GAAP
• Ability to interact well with and enforce accountability of vice presidents, internal auditors and external auditors
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Willingness and ability to travel on short notice to domestic US locations
Preferred
• Previous accounting experience in a multi-currency environment
• Active CPA license
• 4 or more years of experience in Big 4 public accounting firm
• Masters in Accounting or Business Administration
• Strong project management experience
• Strong knowledge of SOX
Education
Bachelors or Equivalent
