Position Overview
Under immediate supervision, the Payroll Services Administrator will be responsible for daily administrative duties that will include but are not limited to processing workflow items, verifying data integrity between our core HR and Timekeeping systems. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. This role will report to the Payroll Manager.
Key Job Responsibilities
Payroll Administrative Support
Process and audit payroll transactions (timekeeping, new hires, terminations, positive pay file, setting up and troubleshooting garnishments, verifications of employment, union benefit check requests, daily mail and UPS, etc.) in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, and verify that company policies and procedures are followed. Participate in problem solving and special projects with the Payroll Department. Perform paid-time-off audits to ensure balances are accurate, process any corrections and ensure balances are updated on a monthly basis. Will provide backup for payroll processing; provide assistance for other administrative tasks as assigned.
Customer Service
Answer incoming phone calls and attempts to provide support or directs call to appropriate department member. Fields and responds to payroll inquiries and resolves discrepancies as required. Display a sense of urgency and strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers. Maintain a positive relationship with all customers through effective communication.
Required Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 0-3 years’ experience in processing payroll, auditing and payroll taxes
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Knowledge of Ultimate Software, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential
