Description
The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Manager, Ad Operations to be based at our corporate office in Cincinnati, OH. This person works within ad operations to help direct a center of operational expertise for the execution of digital advertising across the Scripps digital network. Assists in directing a streamlined and efficient process to support the direct sales effort.
Key activities:
• Act as a back-up to ad operations management for escalations related to advertising issues.
• Guide the ad operations staff to ensure advertising campaigns are executed within the posted turnaround time.
• Supervise members of the ad operations team and be accountable for directing the team in implementing, maintaining and enhancing digital campaigns.
• Train new and existing team members on systems and processes based on current operational guidelines.
• Collaborate with digital teams to ensure they understand digital systems and are trained on the proper way to submit digital orders.
• Accountable for the markets he/she supports and for the quality of deliverables from the operations team.
• Aid in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and sharing across all internal teams that impact advertising.
• Guide implementations and ensure that assigned elements of advertising campaigns are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensures revenue recognition in a variety of billing systems is completed on time.
• Ensures digital tickets are assigned and responded to within the posted turnaround time, and escalations are performed daily.
• Ensures resolution of creative issues; work collaboratively with ad tech team, vendor and/or customers.
• Work collaboratively with the sales team to ensure recommended campaign modifications for optimal results.
• Support local team with daily campaign analysis and optimization, inventory allocation across sales.
• In collaboration with management, create action plan based on results of monthly campaign reports.
• Create a positive professional environment with clients, vendors and internal teams.
• Ensure resolution of monthly invoicing queries.
Education & Experience/Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• 3+ years' experience with ad operations preferred.
• 3+ years' experience working with a variety of ad serving systems.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
Skills & Abilities
• Experience with 3rd party vendors.
• Ability to reprioritize quickly based on changing priorities and business needs.
• Adapt well to constantly changing environments.
• Demonstrate the ability to be proactive and resourceful, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrate ability to successfully multi-task.
• Think creatively.
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Fundamental understand of Broadcast and Newspaper media preferred.
• Working knowledge of Flash, HTML and JavaScript.
• Minimal travel required.
