The Partnered Projects and Executive Education Department at RISD is pleased to announce a vacancy for a Project Manager, Partnered Projects & Executive Education.
The Rhode Island School of Design has a tradition of successfully working with external partners to explore issues with application and relevance in settings beyond the margins of traditional art and design curricula. The Office of Partnered Academic Projects works with external partners, faculty, and students to realize these engagements across its various academic divisions.
The office seeks a highly motivated individual to join its team to envision, develop, and execute short and long-term collaborations and programs.
In this newly created position, the Project Manager will be responsible for planning, managing and facilitating a variety of collaborative projects, including serving as a faculty liaison, developing partner relationships, marketing, facilitating logistics, and completing project plan updates.
Ideal candidates will bring their experience with a diverse range of organizational perspectives, project leadership and management, and curiosity in the complex issues facing contemporary culture to expand the perspective and capacity of the current team. The successful incumbent will be self-driven, and have the ability to work independently overseeing the project quality, delivery and outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum three years previous experience managing/coordinating projects, preferable within an academic setting.
• Ability to translate and frame a strategic vision or strategic questions into topics of interest and exploration in an educational or corporate environment.
• Ability to work with corporations and other entities to identify root issues and avenues for exploration or advancement.
• Demonstrated ability and desire to work effectively with ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
• Ability to identify and nurture relationships which result in high impact outcomes and to work with individuals at all levels of an organization/institution.
• Ability to take initiative, anticipate issues or delays.
• Ability to influence and motivate others to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Excellent oral, written and electronic communication skills and organizational skills required.
• Detail-oriented, resourceful team player, who helps build relationships.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, and MS Project) experience, and general office computer experience required.
• Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
