Emmis Indianapolis Radio is seeking an energetic, passionate, analytical and creative General Sales Manager for our local agency sales team who is up to the challenge of setting new records across multiple platforms. The GSM for Local Agencies will lead, motivate and inspire the local agency sales team to exceed revenue goals. Ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail and be organized. Candidates should also have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple challenges simultaneously and be excellent in broadcast sales negotiation. Also, candidate must be able to take initiative and make decisions without daily guidance. Responsibilities
The General Sales Manager for Local Agency has four Primary Responsibilities:
• Set the overall tone for the national and regional sales department by providing exemplary leadership in accordance with mutually agreed upon sales goals and priorities
• Develop and execute strategies to achieve national, regional and local agency sales goals across multiple media platforms.
• Work alongside fellow Sales Managers to foster a positive sales environment
• Ability to work with fellow Sales Managers on inventory management and pricing
Specific Job Responsibilities include:
• Identify and drive agency sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue goals and objectives working in concert with sales management team.
• Assist the National Accounts Manager with the sales efforts at all offices with our partners at Katz Media, while working closely with the national rep firm on forecasting, negotiations and planning.
• Coach both the national sales account manager and local agency team on growing share utilizing strategic pricing.
• Manage inventory and rates to maximize stations revenue and share.
• Accurately forecast revenue for all stations for agency accounts.
• Manage and execute the Political strategies and business for the stations.
Desired Skills & Experience
Minimum Requirements:
• 5+ years sales management experience
• Consistent track record in exceeding revenue goals
• Experience with both national and local agency clients.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
